The Nifty started the day on a negative note in line with
negative cues from the US markets. Later, it continued to inch lower making a
new intra-day low mainly due to selling in many large-cap counters like Adani
Ports, Tata Motors, Hindalco Industries and Tata Steel which were down anywhere
in the range of 6-11% each. Further, postlunch and with mixed cues from the
European markets the Nifty showed a sharp decline and extended the morning
losses.
It also breached the important support of 7700.
However, at the end it managed to close above 7700 at 7732.75 registering a
loss of around 0.65%
